The patient had recently returned from Wuhan City China. That's the only known case in Washington State. While other tests are pending no other cases have been identified and no cases or suspected cases of the virus have been found in Yakima County.
Nationally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 2,291cases including 48 deaths. They say the only commonality among all cases nationally is that patients use e-cigarettes or vapor products.
According to the World Health Organization a community needs a minimum of 90% of its members to be vaccinated to help prevent measles outbreaks. Our current Yakima County vaccination rate is 89.4%.
