Fuel Relief for Yakima Drivers as Gasoline Prices Fall to $4.98 per Gallon
For the first time in four weeks, gas prices in Yakima have decreased, dropping by 9.5 cents per gallon over the past week.
FINALLY SOME RELIEF AFTER WEEKS OF INCREASES
According to GasBuddy’s survey of 91 stations in Yakima, the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Yakima is now $4.98 per gallon. GasBuddy officials say the decline offers some relief to local drivers after weeks of rising fuel costs.

GAS PRICES FALL DIESEL PRICES CLIMB
Over the last week, diesel prices increased by 4.1 cents, now averaging $5.61 per gallon. Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy says the upward trend in diesel prices reflects "ongoing global supply concerns, particularly related to geopolitical tensions."
WE KNOW WHERE TO FIND THE CHEAPEST GAS
The cheapest gas in Yakima can be found at Costco in Union Gap, where prices are as low as $4.65 per gallon. In the wider Yakima Valley, Wheelers Kountry Korner in Wapato offers the cheapest gasoline at $4.13 per gallon.
Across Washington state, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $5.39 per gallon, much higher than Yakima’s current average.
THE IRAN WAR CONTINUES TO IMPACT
Experts suggest that recent changes in fuel prices are linked to geopolitical developments. De Haan says "the full blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is fueling global supply concerns and risks further disruptions, which pushed oil prices sharply higher in Sunday night trading." He says drivers should prepare for potential price increases in the coming weeks, especially if tensions escalate further.”
