Yakima Gas Prices Decrease Again, After Last Week’s Eight-Cent Drop
Another drop in gas prices in Yakima this week.
TWO WEEKS OF DECREASES
GasBuddy officials say the average gas price in Yakima has decreased by 0.7 cents per gallon over the past week, now averaging $4.04 per gallon based on a survey of 91 stations in the area. That's on top of the eight penny drop Yakima saw last week.
REFINERY CHALLENGES BEHIND US
Meanwhile, the national average price for diesel has increased by 4.7 cents, reaching $3.63 per gallon. The uptick is attributed to recent refinery issues, especially in the Midwest, where a fire caused wholesale gasoline prices to spike temporarily last week.

WE FOUND THE CHEAPEST GAS IN THE VALLEY
In Yakima, the cheapest gas can be found at Arco/AM/PM located at 912 N 1st Street, offering fuel at $3.49 per gallon. Across the valley, the lowest price is at Wheelers Smoke and Gas in Mabton, where gas is available for $3.35 per gallon.
RELIEF IS ON THE WAY
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says although the national average saw a slight rise, the increase was driven by regional disruptions. De Haan says “While the spike in prices in affected areas was significant, relief is likely in the weeks ahead as the situation stabilizes."
A TRADE DEAL COULD IMPACT OIL PRICES
He also noted that ongoing optimism about a potential U.S.-China trade deal could influence oil prices, possibly keeping the national average just above $3 per gallon for a few more weeks before prices potentially drop below that threshold before Thanksgiving and all the Thanksgiving travel.
