If you are attending the 27th Annual 4th of July Celebration at State Fair Park this Wednesday why not take the bus. Free shuttle bus service to the 4th of July celebration at State Fair Park will be provided once again by Yakima Transit this year.  Shuttle buses will operate continuously from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm and from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm from three Park and Ride lots.

The Park and Ride lot locations will be at the Gateway Center (on Fair Avenue in front of Office Max and Target), Eisenhower High School (at the bus turnout on Tieton Drive near 40th Avenue), and Wide Hollow Elementary School (72nd Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard).

Because Wednesday is a holiday many of the City of Yakima’s facilities will be closed for Independence Day.
That includes City Hall, Y-PAC, Public Works, the Harman Center, and Parks and Recreation offices.

Business offices for the Police and Fire Departments will be closed. Emergency services will remain available.

The Yakima City Council’s first regular meeting in July has been moved to Tuesday, July 10th due to the July 4th Independence Day observance.

Yakima Transit will not provide bus service Wednesday except for a shuttle to and from 4th of July festivities at State Fair Park.

There will be no City of Yakima garbage pick-up service on Wednesday, July 4th. Garbage collection service schedules by the City’s Refuse Division on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be delayed by one day. Those with service scheduled for Friday, July 6th will instead have their garbage picked up on Saturday, July 7th.

The one-day delay this week also applies to yard waste.
