Those 18 yea-old and younger are required by have proof of eligibility in the form of a current school photo ID card, a valid government-issued ID card, a birth certificate, or a free Yakima Transit Youth Card

The mask is optional. That's the word from Yakima City officials who say masks are now optional on both Yakima Transit buses and inside the terminal at the Yakima airport.

But masks will still be required on Yakima Transit and at the airport.

Yakima Transit will provide free shuttle bus service to the Yakima Area Arboretum’s 2019 Luminaria Candle-Lit Walk event on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th.

Yakima Transit Manager Alvie Maxey says “We are changing the schedule to better serve our passengers.”

Free shuttle bus service to the 4th of July celebration at State Fair Park will be provided once again by Yakima Transit this year. Shuttle buses will operate continuously from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm and from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm from three Park and Ride lots.

The impacted stops are behind Chase Bank at 6550 W. Nob Hill Boulevard, in front of Walmart at 6600 W. Nob Hill Boulevard, as well as eastbound and westbound stops at 70th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard.

The change is prompted by the City of Selah’s decision to establish a different provider for Selah Transit.
