Your Chance To Enjoy Spring Wine and Save Lives In Yakima This Weekend
It's one of the most popular events of the year so you can expect big crowds at wineries in the Yakima Valley during Spring Barrel Tasting this weekend.
YOU'LL HAVE THE CHANCE TO A YOUNG VINTAGE STRAIGHT FROM THE BARREL
If you plan on attending the event don't forget you'll need your own wine glass. Also authorities are hoping you'll find a designated driver. John Cooper, President & CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism says “many of the wine makers will pull tastes straight from the barrel, giving you a sneak peek at how their young vintages may mature.”
FOODS PAIRED WITH WINES WHILE LEARNING ABOUT OUR FAVORITE DRINK
Cooper says besides great wine tasting "Wineries will create a range of tasting, pairing and educational experiences around the wine making process to give guests a greater understanding of how wines are crafted.” Some of the wineries will also have food vendors, entertainment and other activities.
YOU'LL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE WINE THAT'S NOT OFFICIALLY ON THE MARKET YET
Along with tastings some wineries offer a chance for you to purchase the wine that's not been officially bottled. There is no paid passport or ticket required, however you may see tasting or event fees at some wineries plus some may charge for wine glasses. To learn more, go to Visit Yakima to find a list of participating wineries and the activities planned for Spring Barrel Tasting 2024.
GATHER THOSE DOCUMENTS AND OLD MEDICATIONS AND DROP THEM OFF BEFORE YOU GO WINE TASTING

Outdated prescriptions? You can turn in your unused, expired prescription medications for safe disposal. No limits on amount of medications to return and dispose. Officials ask that your shredded items and medicine are clearly separated.
DON'T FORGET TO TIP YOUR WAITER!
There is no cost for the service but Safe Yakima Valley and Yakima County Crime Stoppers would gladly accept donations to help in their mission to keep kids safe and help put wanted criminals behind bars.
