It's spring and that means it's time to taste wine in the Yakima valley.

NOW IS THE TIME TO PLAN FOR THE EVENT

You'll be able to enjoy some of the best wines in the country next month during the annual Spring Barrel Tasting event, happening from April 24-26 at over 30 local wineries. If you attend don't forget to bring their own wine glass and consider finding a designated driver for the festivities.

PULLING TASTES FROM THE BARREL

John Cooper, President & CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism, calls it a unique experience: “Many of the winemakers will pull tastes straight from the barrel, giving you a sneak peek at how their young vintages may mature.” In addition to sampling fine wines, you can enjoy a variety of tasting, pairing, and educational experiences that provide insight into the winemaking process.

WINE FOR YOUR SUMMER GATHERINGS

You'll also be able to purchase wine from the many wineries for your upcoming spring and summer gatherings. Some wineries may offer wines that are not yet officially bottled for purchase. Many wineries will also feature food vendors, live entertainment, and activities to enhance the experience. Expect large crowds so plan your weekend.
While there is no required passport or ticket for the event, some wineries may charge tasting fees or for wine glasses. For more information and a list of participating wineries, visit www.visityakima.com. Don't miss out on this chance to taste the future of Yakima Valley wines!
