Yakima Police say it happens every year when the weather changes and temperatures increase. They see an increase in crime. Why do they see the increase? Capt. Jay Seely says it's simply because more people are out and about especially during the evening hours. Robberies, assaults and domestic violence and burglary are the most popular crimes during the spring and summer months.
