The installation of Flock cameras has become a really hot topic here in Washington. The city of Tacoma has joined the latest ranks of cities and towns across the state who are banning their use, and here in Yakima, we've seen our own share of debate and protest.

I understand why law enforcement is the biggest advocate for the use of these surveillance cameras but at the same time, sometimes I feel like our Fourth Amendment right*** against unreasonable searches keeps being stripped away bit by bit.

How to Check if Your License Plate Was Searched

Did you know there is a website where you can check to see if a Flock camera has searched your license plate? As soon as I found out about this website, I raced over to it to see if mine was on the list. (it was not, whew).

Anonymous Resident Cuts Down Local Camera

One of the Flock cameras has already been cut down by an anonymous resident, and the Yakima Police Department are asking the public to come forward with info to reveal the culprit.

Yakima Residents Push Back Against Local Surveillance

Hundreds of local residents on one of our Facebook pages have been quite vocal about their feelings on the presence of Flock cams, and the general consensus reveals a sense of anger and confusion over their intended use.
