Two Arson Fires in Two Days in White Swan

Fire District 5 tells us that an abandoned commercial building burned today, after an abandoned house was destroyed yesterday.

Captain J.J. Ihnen of Yakima County Fire District 5 says that 14 firefighters battled an abandoned commercial building fire at 201 Curtis Street in White Swan this morning.  The alarm went out at about 6:00 am, and the fire was under control by 11:00 am. This fire followed a fire that destroyed an abandoned home at 320 1st Street  on Wednesday.  Both buildings were allowed to burn completely will firefighters protected surrounding occupied homes. Arson has been determined to be the cause of both fires.
