If you drive a vehicle and pay for fuel you know how expensive gas has been this summer. So finally some relief?

THREE WEEKS OF DROPS

We'll take another drop in prices this week.
Yakima drivers are benefiting from a third week in a row of falling gas prices, providing some much-needed relief amid ongoing high fuel costs across the state. According to GasBuddy’s survey of 91 stations in Yakima, the average price of regular unleaded has decreased by 3.3 cents per gallon, now averaging $3.99. GasBuddy officials say compared to last month, prices are down by 6.2 cents per gallon, but they're still 8.9 cents higher than the same time last year.

DIESEL DRIVERS SEE RISE

If you pump diesel fuel, diesel prices, meanwhile, have seen a slight uptick, increasing by 1.7 cents to an average of $3.69 per gallon nationally.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says recent declines are linked to a drop in oil prices, which have fallen more than $2 per barrel. “While the national average has eased slightly, some states like Florida, Nebraska, and Indiana are experiencing double-digit increases due to a phenomenon called price cycling,” says De Haan.

ROLLERCOASTER PRICING

He says that means we're on a rollercoaster for gas prices spike and declines every few weeks. "As we approach August, overall national prices are expected to remain relatively stable, but states affected by price cycling may see more volatility.
For Yakima drivers looking to save, experts recommend shopping around at different stations and staying informed about local fuel prices. GasBuddy says with prices trending downward, now might be a good time to fill up and save some money at the pump.
