Antoinette Miller continues to be held in the Yakima County jail on charges of Second Degree Murder, Second Degree Assault of a Child and Fourth Degree Domestic Violence Assault.
Brusic says a true test of the new system will happen next month when 3 defendants will go on trial for the December 2019 fatal beating of a fellow inmate in the Yakima County jail.
Yakima Police officers took her into protective custody and transported her to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital where she suffered a serious medical event.
Brusic is trying to help prevent an outbreak of the disease at the jail or in the juvenile jail. He says he's working with staff at the Department of Corrections to keep non-violent offenders out of custody.
He says trying to remove the mayor through such a process would be long and expensive legal process. Brusic released the following information on Thursday.
