Many who live and work downtown say the monthly cost of $50 is too high

The move by council members stops enforcement in the city owned parking lots.

Council members will be talking about the options available to create paid parking to increase revenue for the downtown area.

While the council hasn't yet made a decision about paid parking business owner Joe Mann says he's confident the plan will be approved by the city in the near future.

Joe Mann is the owner of Ron's Coin and Collectibles in Downtown Yakima as well as a property owner.
