More than 50 entries were a part of the parade as each vehicle and even dogs were covered with colored lights. Companies from throughout the valley were involved from Coca Cola to Burrows Tractor and many others. Some make the event an annual tradition complete with tailgating that included food and drinks.
Less than 24 hours after arriving at Millenium Plaza in downtown Yakima, the city's community Christmas tree was erected and subsequently knocked down by the ferocious winds that the valley endured Tuesday night (11/26) and Wednesday morning.
The official tree lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 8, after the Downtown Yakima’s annual Holiday Lighted Parade. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m.
Week 5 of the weekly Downtown Summer Nights concert series in Yakima on historic North Front Street, continues tonight with live music from both coasts.
Hot Shot’s divisions run from 1st grade through high school for boys and girls. Adult divisions include men’s open, men’s 6-foot-and-under, women’s open, coed and family.
The star of the parade however was Santa Clause who helped turn on the lights on the community Christmas tree in the Millennium Plaza after the parade.
