Yakima's Community Christmas Tree arrives Tuesday in downtown Yakima.
The arrival of the tree at the Millennium Plaza is expected between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The tree comes from a Yakima area home. It'll be placed by the Downtown Association of Yakima crew, with the help of Yakima city crews. A news release from the city says no traffic is expected to be impacted because of the arrival of the tree but parking spaces next to Millennium Plaza on 3rd Street will be closed during the installation.
The official tree lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 8, after the Downtown Yakima’s annual Holiday Lighted Parade. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m.
