The Hot Shots 3-on-3 Tournament that's been in the downtown area since 2003 is moving to SOZO Sports Complex at 2200 S. 36th Avenue on June 22-23. Rich Austin, Director of Sports Development for the Yakima Valley Sports Commission and tourney organizer says “We are happy to announce Gesa Credit Union as the new presenting partner for Hot Shots. Gesa is very involved in the Yakima Valley and an ideal partner for the tourney. The event was cancelled last summer due to unhealthy air quality from wildfires, a 2019 June date change should help avoid that issue. Our new location, SOZO, is a premier complex with newly paved areas for basketball courts and large grass fields for spectators and participants to relax,” He says they simply outgrew the downtown area.
Hot Shot’s divisions run from 1st grade through high school for boys and girls. Adult divisions include men’s open, men’s 6-foot-and-under, women’s open, coed and family.
