The Yakima Air Terminal is on the mend says City Manager Tony O'Rourke. The city council tonight is expected to approve a contract with a company called Air Service Planners for air service development at the airport. The company will be in charge of finding more air carriers who want to operate in Yakima. O'Rourke says once a carrier is found the city will have to help the company financially with start up costs.

O'Rourke says supporting that risk for the airline will not last long if a number of flights to different destinations are available so the airlines can support themselves. It is the job of air service planners to find those airlines and help develop services at the airport.
