I love to travel. I fly several times a year to various events and conventions for my video game hobby. Sure, I could drive to Seattle to save a few bucks on my flight, but am I really saving? Here are all the reasons I can think of why I prefer to fly out of Yakima's airport than drive to Seattle and fly out of SeaTac.
A news release says the Washington State Department of Transportation will host the meetings and invites those who participated in the study or have interest in working with Washington state airports to attend.
Janet Pierce says state officials were predicting a hot, dry and busy fire season -- one for which they had prepared by stationing resources in areas like Yakima to make sure they could respond in a timely manner and gain control.
"Total funding for the project is estimated to be $1.9 million dollars, of which 90 percent is provided by the FAA through a grant. The remaining 10 percent match is funded through the airport’s Passenger Facility Charge program."
