Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a democrat from San Francisco died in September of last year at the age of 90. But this year she's being honored the San Francisco International Airport.

THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL WILL SOON BE RENAMED

Airport officials say they're renaming the international terminal after Feinstein according to the San Francisco Airport Commission which recently approved a resolution to make the change possible. The commission received a proposal to nominate Feinstein for the honor and found many reasons to approve the change including the fact that she was the former mayor and senator and had worked for many years with the airport.

THE LATE SENATOR'S COMMITTEE IS WORKING WITH THE AIRPORT

The Dianne Feinstein 100-plus Committee is now working closely with the commission to create ideas for the design and content of the tribute. There's no word on when the project will be finished.Commission members say it was the late senator's work that helped transform the airport business and helped with funding of the international terminal that opened for passengers in 1983.

FEINSTEIN WAS THE LONGEST SERVING FEMALE SENATOR IN US HISTORY

Feinstein, who spent some three decades in congress passed away at her Washington D.C. Home in September of 2023. She was 90-years-old. Feinstein was the longest-serving female senator in the history of the United States.
She also served two terms as the first female mayor of San Francisco.
