The Yakima Police Department is trying to raise awareness of breast cancer at the Central Washington State Fair this week. October is breast cancer awareness month and spokesman Mike Bastinelli says the department is selling pink ribbons for $20 with the proceeds going to Ohana Mammography Center in Yakima. He says people are encouraged to write a name on the ribbon of a person in memory or of someone who's battling breast cancer. "Then in the month of October we'll place the ribbons on our patrol cars."
You'll find the Yakima Police Department booth just across from the Pepsi Plaza at this year's Central Washington State Fair.
