The Central Washington State Fair lands on Friday, September 25th thru Sunday, October 4th, and on one of those days THE VODKA SHOTS QUEEN herself Sandra Lee will be here (see the date below).

As revealed in this list, there are several reasons people who love to go to county fairs are excited about, one of them being the big apple pie contest, which is a big deal around these parts because the first-place winner takes home a $500 cash prize (second, and third place winners in both the adult and youth division also win various cash prizes, too).

How to Enter the Apple Pie Contest at the Fair

If you think you're apple pie is THE STUFF, then come prepared with two (2) identically baked apple pies from scratch (the Fair staff says "no packaged mixes are allowed"), and they must have good crust! You can use any variety of apples for your pies.

I've never made an apple pie from scratch, but if I did, I'd use some Yakima Valley apples for a little razzle dazzle!

You do have to share your recipe, so no gatekeeping on this one! Fill out the registration form. There is an entry fee. Sandra Lee will be at the Central Washington State Fair doing all kinds of things including judging that apple pie contest on Saturday, September 26th!
