Yakima Police Investigate Homicide

Yakima Police continue to investigate the discovery Thursday of a man dead at a home on Cherry Avenue. Police have identified the man as 23-year-old Redmond David Apodaca. Police say he has ties to local gangs but they haven't released a motive in the shooting. Apodaca was found dead of a gunshot wound at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday by two women visiting the home. They called police. Police searched the home in the 1200 block of Cherry Avenue but didn't find a gun. An investigation continues.
