Yakima Police are investigating after the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy Friday night at West Valley Community Park. Yakima Police were called to the park on South 80th Avenue at about 6:00 p.m. When they arrived they found the 16-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities say three other juveniles who were with the victim at the time of the shooting were not injured.

Officers and deputies from the Yakima County Sheriff's office were able to arrest an 18-year-old suspect who fled the area in a vehicle after it was reported that the suspect had excited the vehicle nearby and was on foot.  The suspect was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies. He's being held in the Yakima county jail as the investigation continues. No names have been released.
