Strip clubs are still banned in Yakima, and a recent federal lawsuit over the issue didn't go very far. A jury awarded Jaime Muffett a little less than $9,570 for out-of-pocket expenses after Yakima stopped him from opening a strip club. Muffett didn't get any money for lost profits.

He had sued Yakima for denying his application to open a club. Muffett claimed he lost more than $1.5 million because of it. The jury didn't see it that way after deliberating for less than an hour.

Yakima will review its rules on deciding to allow permits for strip clubs. A public hearing on a moratorium is scheduled for next month.
