GASBUDDY WAS EXPECTING THESE LOWER PRICES

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, noted that although the drop in fuel prices might be surprising to some, it aligns with expectations outlined in their annual Fuel Outlook from December. "Some 28 states have average gas prices below $3 per gallon. Looking back at our outlook provides insight into the current drop and what we expect next." With the median U.S. gas price now at $2.95 per gallon, the lowest since 2021, it seems likely that the national average may soon fall below $3 per gallon for the first time since May 2021. De Haan added, "This is something many Americans will appreciate as we approach Thanksgiving."

DO YOU PUMP DIESEL?

In terms of diesel, the national average price has also seen a slight decline, dropping 0.4 cents in the past week to reach $3.52 per gallon. The ongoing decrease in fuel prices comes as welcome news during a time when many people are preparing for holiday travel.
