HOPE FOR A DEAL IN IRAN OR MORE INCREASES COMING

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, explained that recent declines in fuel prices were short-lived. Oil prices initially eased mid-week amid optimism that the U.S. and Iran might reach a deal, helping to pull the national average lower by about eight cents. However, this optimism has since diminished, as talks appear to stall and President Trump signaled that the latest proposals are unacceptable. Consequently, oil prices have risen again in electronic trading, which could drive fuel prices higher in the coming days.

WHAT? MORE PRICE INCREASES ON THE WAY?

De Haan warned that many states might experience further price fluctuations, potentially pushing the national average toward $4.65 per gallon if oil prices continue to climb. Additionally, diesel prices in the Great Lakes region are approaching new record highs due to ongoing refinery issues that are impacting diesel production.
If geopolitical tensions escalate further, experts warn that fuel prices could spike even more sharply in the weeks ahead.
