What Kind Of Downtown Yakima Do You Want?

The City of Yakima is looking for ideas about downtown and you are invited to bring your ideas to a community workshop later this month at the Howard Johnson. City Economic and Development Director Sean Hawkins says it is your chance to tell city leaders what you want in downtown Yakima. the community meeting set for 6:30 p.m. May 9 at the Yakima Howard Johnson Hotel at 9 Street and Yakima Avenue. Along with the community meeting the city will hold other meetings with property and business owners in the downtown area on that same day . Hawkins says the new downtown plan is designed to bring more people into the area. Hawkins says “this is a chance for the community to come share ideas, ask questions and gain a greater understanding of the process we are undertaking.”
