Wapato Man Struck and Killed by Train

A man from Wapato was killed Monday afternoon after being struck by a train near the intersection of North Track and Jones Roads near Wapato. State patrol troopers say Tyrone Colwash died at the scene just before 3:00 p.m. A spokesperson for the railroad says the man was trespassing and the crew used the emergency brakes and the horn to try and avoid him. The spokesman says this is the third fatality on BNSF tracks in January.
