The city narrowed down it's selection for city manager Tuesday during an executive session.

Four finalists have been selected for the position that was left vacant after the former city manager resigned.

Our news partner KIMA Action News reports the candidate pool is down half of what it was last month and council says it's satisfied with it's pool of finalists.

"You have different opinions about the qualifications, which is what you talk about in executive sessions of I like this part about this person," said Yakima Mayor Micah Cawley. "You don't make a decision there but the council did publicly invite four people to interview."

The interviews will take place in two weeks over a 5-day period.

The names of those finalists will be released as soon as each candidate is notified.
