There is a movie coming out this weekend that looks AWESOME.  It’s called “LUCY” and it stars Scarlett Johansson as a woman who is criminally enabled to access 100% of her brain’s power.  The effect is fascinating but is the premise true?  Do we only use 10% of our brain?  Is that a myth? Apparently so.Who hasn't heard the myth that we use just ten percent of our brains? The Atlantic reports that the idea may date back to psychologist William James who wrote in 1907 that we use "only a small part of our possible mental and physical resources."

Scientists today say that the brain is packed with living neurons that are always doing something, and those brain scans showing only a small part of the brain lit up may confuse people. One neuroscience professor points out those scans are designed to show only the brain's major activities, not all of the brain's activities. (Newser)
