Larry Hull reminds us all of all the times Yakima said "NO" to projects only to have proponents find a way around the No to get to "Go" and how well such actions have benefited the City.
I don't want you not to vote because I think you are stupid --but because I hope you are smart enough to know that something of this magnitude deserves the full scrutiny of someone elected to spend the time, do the research, read the plans, study the history and best weigh the chances for success or failure
Here's what they say, "if the plaza is such a good idea why not be confident with a public vote." On the surface that makes sense. But that's assuming voters have enough accurate information to recognize the actual good in the good idea.
What's really going on with the Plaza Vote - PART TWO? Is it really a concern about lack of money or is there more going on that will likely cost the city even more?
However the council won't be talking about the pit bull ban and the downtown plaza...issues that were shelved during the last council meeting because a council member was absent.
