Community Christmas Tree Arrives Thursday

Yakima's Community Christmas Tree arrived in downtown Yakima Thursday. The tree was placed at Millennium Plaza. Officials from the Downtown Association of Yakima say the tree's arrival impacted traffic as it was trucked to the area on major city streets.

They'll decorate the tree with lights next week.

Downtown Yakima’s annual Holiday Lighted Parade is canceled this year due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings.

DAY is planning a virtual tree-lighting ceremony sometime after Thanksgiving Day.
