The City of Yakima’s two other public pools, Lions Pool and the Aquatic Center and MLK, Jr. Park, are also open and operating normal hours.

In addition to the bathrooms, the city also plans to keep Yakima’s Lion’s Pool operational for the rest of the year.

Yakima’s Franklin and Lions Pools are set to open on April 15.

State lawmakers from the Yakima valley have a plan to open Lions and Franklin Pools for "limited runs" this summer.

Earlier this year the Yakima City Council agreed to close Franklin Pool in 2026 as part of a $3 million cost-cutting package.
