On the road again, just can't wait to get back on the road again.  Labor Day 2020 a millions of Americans are planning to travel over the weekend as the U.S. State Department has lifted its “Do Not Travel” advisory.
Fox News checked in with he travel planning app TripIt which indicates people are flocking to some of the familiar destinations like Las Vegas, Orlando and Denver, and surprisingly, compared to last year, trips to Orlando and Phoenix are up despite being areas with high COVID-19 outbreak numbers.
The airlines tell a different story with flight bookings for the holiday weekend at just a third of what reservations were last year.  The outlier is Florida where bookings have surged 200% over last year.
Travel in our state will complicated by rock blasting shortly after Labor Day. WSDOT says drivers need to plan for an hour of added travel time during rock blasting closures.

A news release from he Washington State Department of Transportation says contractor crews are scheduled to conduct the first controlled rock blast on Wednesday night, Sept. 9.

For the safety of the traveling public, crews will temporarily close the eastbound lanes near Price Creek, milepost 63 and the westbound lanes near Easton, milepost 70 at 6:30 p.m. The closure will last up to an hour. After crews blast, they will remove debris from the roadway and shoulders, inspect the slopes for stability and safety, and reopen all lanes of I-90.

Rock blasting is part of the next phase of the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East project to widen a six-mile stretch of highway from four to six lanes and improve reliability and safety between the Cabin Creek interchange and the West Easton interchange. This multi-year project is funded by the 2015 Connecting Washington funding package and is scheduled to be complete in 2025.
