
New Housing Units Planned for Swan Ave in Yakima: Public Comment Scheduled for September
The City of Yakima's Hearing Examiner has announced a call for open record public comments regarding three new housing units proposed for development in northwest Yakima.
Proposed Housing Developments in Yakima Require Public Hearings and Comments
Yakima resident Julia Rosales is requesting the City's permission to create two lots and seeks to build two lots for new residential housing units in the 1100 block of Swan Ave near Campbell Lane. The location is relatively close to Garfield Elementary School and McGuinness Park.
The hearing examiner will have ten days after the hearing to finalize a decision.
Any resident in Yakima must attend an open hearing in order to seek access to public utilities, including city streets, water, sewage, and garbage collection. These services are taxable according to standing city ordinances and regulations.

Members of the Yakima Planning Commission have presented the request to city council, and the public hearing and comment portion has been scheduled for Thursday, September 10th at 9 a.m. inside council chambers (129 N 2nd St).

How to Make a Public Comment for This Hearing
The hearing is open to the public, particularly for nearby property owners on Swan Ave.
"Any person desiring to express their views on the matter is invited to attend the hearing to provide testimony. Written comments may be submitted up to the date of the hearing. Please reference file numbers (PS#010-26, VAR#001-26 and applicant's name (Rosales) in any correspondence you submit."
Written public comments can be mailed to the City of Yakima's Planning Commission at 129 N 2nd St, Yakima, WA, 98901. All other public notices are listed on the YakimaWA.gov website.
