KIT’s Morning News Honored by Wapato School District
The Morning News was honored Thursday with an award from the Washington Association of School Administrators at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Yakima. Wapato School District Superintendent Becky Imler nominated KIT's Morning News with Dave Ettl, Lance Tormey and Jack "Jacksonian" Balzer for a Community Leadership Award for supporting the efforts and activities happening in the Wapato School District. Each year districts in the valley choose people who help support and promote district policies and events. Others recognized include West Valley Citizens for Better Schools and Spencer Hatton and the Yakima Downtown Kiwanis Club.
Superintendent Becky Imler was also honored Thursday with a retirement award after 41 years in education. Imler is retiring at the end of the school year.
