Changes are on the way for the city of Yakima. The new city manager just submitted a plan for reorganization. Tony O'Rourke proposes eight key changes, all of them all aimed at making Yakima more efficient and financially stable. The changes include bringing back a fire inspector and creating a new position to focus on the execution of city plans. Council members will make a decision on the proposal at tonight's council meeting. O'Rourke said he has no plans to lay off any Yakima city workers. Details of the plan are expected to be released at the meeting set for 6 p.m. tonight at Yakima City Hall.
