It is the 12th year for Yakima's big Cinco De Mayo celebration brought close to 20,000 people into the downtown area on Saturday and Sunday. This year's event featured live music, food, pony rides, a car show and even some street soccer. Locals said they appreciate that the city puts on this big celebration. They said it shows off a better side of Yakima. "It shows that the community of Yakima is one," said Fred Valdez. "We are all together in this, and it is good for Yakima."

"It gets more people to come to the town and see how the town is and the joy and the peace that is around here," said Sandra Salizer.
