PETA to Shock With ‘Hell on Wheels’ Pig Transport Truck
PETA or People for the ethical treatment of animals will be making an appearance in Yakima on Monday. PETA officials say they'll bring their ‘Hell on Wheels’ Truck to Blast Dying Pigs’ Cries Outside Yakima Eateries.
PETA WILL HAVE A SPECIAL TRUCK DOWNTOWN MONDAY
A press release says diners will hear the screams from PETA’s "hyper-realistic pig transport truck" that looks as if it contains real pigs on their way to slaughter. They say they'll be in the downtown Yakima area at 12:00 pm Monday to "bombard people" with recorded sounds of the animals’ panicked screams along with a message every 10 seconds suggesting that people go vegan.
THE AIM IS TO GET PEOPLE TO NOT EAT MEAT ESPECIALLY PORK
PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman says "behind every pork sandwich is a once-living, sensitive individual who was crammed onto a truck for a terrifying, miserable journey to their death." She says “PETA’s ‘Hell on Wheels’ truck is an appeal to anyone who eats pork to remember that the meat industry is cruel and that the only kind meal is a vegan one.
WHILE THE PRESS RELEASE MAKES ALLEGATIONS THE PORK INDUSTRY SAYS THEY FOLLOW ALL THE RULES
The press release says the meat industry causes pain to the animals preparing them for slaughter. When it's time for slaughter PETA officials say pigs are injured or die during transport. The pork industry denies causing pain saying they use federally approved slaughtering practices and reject the allegations made by PETA and other animal welfare groups.
