Police say the 27-year-old father and his girlfriend were dancing at the Cinco De Mayo Festival on Yakima Avenue Saturday when the suspect walked into the dance area and grabbed the child and ran off.
Streets in the downtown area were closed on Friday night and Saturday morning for the festival that featured entertainment and great food from many restaurants and food trucks popular in the area.
This year's Cinco de Mayo celebration in Yakima marks its 15th anniversary this weekend with a two-day festival hosted by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the heart of downtown.
The free, family-friendly event annually draws 20,000 attendees and is also now one of the longest-running annual events in downtown Yakima as well.
