This November, the Yakima public will be able to vote on whether or not there should be a charter amendment in the city constitution that sets aside $750,000 per year for the city's parks.

In one way, it would guarantee that the city's parks could always be improved and nothing would stop Yakima from getting great outdoor options. Yet, in times of financial strife for the city this would be money that could not be used elsewhere.
