t sales of breakfast cereals dropped by 1.3-percent in the last year, while sales of breakfast bars and drinks increased by 2.6-percent in the same time period.

Researchers suspect gluten may be to blame, and in response cereal companies are launching many alternatives such as breakfast drinks, bars and healthier cereal options.
