Gas Down in Yakima and The Cheapest in The State in Wapato
Fuel prices in Yakima have experienced a slight decline over the past week, offering some relief as you fill the tank. According to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in Yakima, the average gasoline price has fallen by 7.9 cents per gallon, settling at $4.67 per gallon.
WHILE PRICES ARE DOWN TODAY THEY'RE STILL HIGHER THAN A MONTH AGO
However, prices in Yakima still remain 0.9 cents higher compared to a month ago and stand at 30.7 cents higher than the same time last year.
Despite the reduction in gas prices locally, the national average price of diesel has dipped by only 0.9 cents per gallon in the last week, with the current average standing at $4.42 per gallon.

If you're looking for the cheapest fuel options need not look any further. GasBuddy reports that the lowest gas price in the area was recorded at $3.73 per gallon on Sunday in Wapato, making it the most affordable fuel option within the state of Washington.
STATE GAS PRICES DOWN NATIONAL PRICE UP
The national average price of gasoline has seen a slight increase of 1.6 cents per gallon in the same period. As of Monday, the national average stands at $3.83 per gallon.Nationally, the average price of gasoline has decreased by 3.0 cents per gallon in the past month, standing at 11.4 cents higher than a year ago. GasBuddy compiled this data from over 11 million weekly price reports from more than 150,000 gas stations across the United States. While the slight rise in the national average may be concerning to some, GasBuddy says the overall picture indicates a mixed trend in gas prices.
SOME GOOD NEWS AS WE GET CLOSER TO FALL AND WINTER
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy says "with most of the nation switching back to cheaper winter gasoline on Saturday, we should see more price decreases for most the nation in the weeks ahead, barring further refinery disruptions and hurricane season."
