Rick Mottice has announced his candidacy for Yakima County Sheriff. 51-year-old Mottice, who has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience after working for the Yakima County Sheriff's office from 1998 to 2009 says he wants to continue neighborhood watch programs, partnerships with schools and the continued implementation of the active shooter program, and a premier Search and Rescue program. Mottice says An increased sense of pride in the department and community is also important. Currently Mottice is a supervisor for a company performing cleanup work at the Hanford nuclear reservation. He says his experience, leadership, and community involvement qualifies him to be the next Yakima County Sheriff.
