A one-year-old boy died Monday after being run over by a vehicle at a home near Toppenish.

THE TRAGEDY HAPPENED AT A HOME NEAR TOPPENISH

Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the 100 block of West Satus Road for a report of a child being run over by a vehicle. when Deputies and medics arrived they found a one-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries. Even though medics were on the scene authorities alerted a Life-Flight helicopter. After the Life-Flight helicopter landed at the location the medics tried to save the boy and keep him alive but he died at the scene of the tragedy.

THE BOYS UNCLE WAS LEAVING FOR WORK

A press release from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office says the family had gathered at the home for lunch on Monday and ate lunch together. During lunch the one-year-old boy was playing in the yard of the home. Authorities say his uncle was leaving for work when he accidentally ran over the boy.

A TRAUMATIC ACCIDENT TOUGH FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED

The press release says this was a terrible and tragic accident and a sad and traumatic day for the family. They say it was also a sad and traumatic day for Deputies, having to see and investigate the tragic accident.
