It happens every year and every year it gets more popular.

The Yakima Kids Fish In at Sarg Hubbard Park is set for Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

Carol Yeates with the Yakima Greenway says upwards of 1,000 kids are expected to go fishing in the park's reflection pond, though not all at the same time. She says that every child who signs up “gets a rod, reel and bait and a T-shirt. They each have an opportunity to catch two fish.”

Registration forms are available at the Yakima Greenway office or at the Yakima Greenway website at yakimagreenway.org and the deadline to register is Friday. The cost is $10 and is open to kids 5-14 years old.
