A 52-year-old man remains in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after being hit riding his bicycle in Moxee Saturday. A Yakima County Sheriff's office news release says deputies were called at about 5:00 p.m. Saturday to the area of Postma Rd and St. Hilaire Rd for a report of a bicyclist that was struck by a vehicle which had left the scene of the crash.

The release says deputies were helped by a homeowner who saw the driver running on Duffield Rd. Deputies arrived and arrested 33-year-old Jose Vasquez of Yakima on DUI, Vehicular Assault, Hit and Run charges.

The victim,  identified as 52-year-old Loyal Andrew McCloud Jr from the Yakima / Moxee area. Sheriff's officials say he is in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center with severe and disfiguring injuries.

The Yakima County Sheriff's office arrested a driver Saturday for hitting a man riding his bicycle in the Moxee area. Yakima County Sheriff's Office spokesman Casey Schilperoort says the bicycle rider suffered severe injuries and was taken to a Yakima hospital and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He says he suffered a possible broken back and head injuries.

At about 5:00 p.m. Saturday deputies where called to the area of  Postma Road and St Hilaire in Moxee. When they arrived they found the victim and a parked van a short distance from the scene. Deputies arrested the driver of the van on assault and DUI charges. He's being held in the Yakima County Jail.
The victim is being treated at Harborview Medical Center but his condition is unknown at this time.
