(Updated) Driver Arrested After Bicycle Rider Injured in Moxee Saturday
The release says deputies were helped by a homeowner who saw the driver running on Duffield Rd. Deputies arrived and arrested 33-year-old Jose Vasquez of Yakima on DUI, Vehicular Assault, Hit and Run charges.

The Yakima County Sheriff's office arrested a driver Saturday for hitting a man riding his bicycle in the Moxee area. Yakima County Sheriff's Office spokesman Casey Schilperoort says the bicycle rider suffered severe injuries and was taken to a Yakima hospital and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He says he suffered a possible broken back and head injuries.
At about 5:00 p.m. Saturday deputies where called to the area of Postma Road and St Hilaire in Moxee. When they arrived they found the victim and a parked van a short distance from the scene. Deputies arrested the driver of the van on assault and DUI charges. He's being held in the Yakima County Jail.
The victim is being treated at Harborview Medical Center but his condition is unknown at this time.
