A family in Moxee is recovering today after a fire destroyed their home in the 300 block of East Seattle Avenue on Wednesday. No injuries were reported but Firefighters say the family, a mother and father and a little boy lost everthing in the blaze.

THE FIRE REPORTEDLY CAUSED BY A NATURAL GAS EXPLOSION

Officials with Yakima Valley Emergency Management and social media posts say the fire was started by a natural gas explosion. Firefighters were called to the fire at about 11:38 am and they immediately evacuated homes in and around the blaze. No family members were inside the home when the fire started.
Family and friends of those impacted have started a GoFundMe page so people can help.

BROOKSIDE FUNERAL HOME THE DONATION DROP-OFF SPOT

Officials at Brookside Funeral Home at 500 W Prospect Road in Moxee say the funeral home is now a drop-off point for donations cash and other items the family needs to start over since they lost all belongings in the fire. A post on the Facebook Page of Brookside Funeral Home says the office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. They say if that time doesn't work they'll meet after hours if it makes it easier to donate. You can contact the funeral home at 509-457-1232. Funeral home offiicials praised the Firefighters and Moxee community for helping the family.

The post says they'll be putting together a baby shower in the future for the mother and a "meal train" is planned for next week. The Facbook post also gives information for those who want to donate:
Little boy wears 2t in clothes and size 6 in shoes.
Momma wears XL shirts and large in pants. Size 6 shoes.
Daddy wears 2x in shirts jeans size 32/32 size 12 in shoes.
The post says "Momma is due with a baby girl in March. They lost all of the things they had in preparation for her arrival."
The actual cause of the fire is under investigation.
