Summerlike weather requires Summerlike food.  So when it’s as hot outside as it is on the surface of the grill, well then we are going to need some cheeseburgers. The other day we shared with you the reason why the holes in Swiss Cheese are disappearing. (It has to do with improved sanitary conditions in the barn!)  Now it’s time to learn more about cheese…or fromage as the French would say.

Let’s start with the Top Five Cheese producing states.  You gotta go with Wisconsin as number one right? I mean the Green Bay Packer fans are called “Cheese Heads”! A couple of the other states may surprise you.

  1. Wisconsin
  2. California
  3. Idaho
  4. New Mexico
  5. New York

Finally, where might you have to go to get the most expensive cheese in the world? Not to my backyard, that’s for sure! No, to meet that most supreme “CbIP” (that’s cheese in Russian and it sounds like “syr”) you’ll need to go to a farm in Siberia and ask for “Pule Cheese”. You better bring your checkbook too because Pule Cheese costs $1,000 a pound!  Did we mention it’s made from donkey milk?  ( Cheddar’s sounding better already!)
