Time To Fill The Tank Gas Prices Down This Week in Yakima
After weeks of increases and high prices, residents in Yakima are finally seeing some relief at the pump as gas prices have started to decrease. According to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in the valley, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Yakima today is $4.41 per gallon.
WE KNOW WHERE YOU CAN FIND THE CHEAPEST GAS IN THE VALLEY
While prices are still higher than a month ago, this slight decrease is a welcome change for many residents. The cheapest station in the Yakima valley is at Wheelers Kountry Korner in Wapato where gas is selling for $3.93 per gallon. Prices at other stations in the area vary slightly, with the Ahtanum Fuel Stop on Goodman Road selling gas for $3.99 per gallon.
EVEN THE NATIONAL PRICE HAS FALLEN THIS WEEK
The average price in Washington state is $4.68 per gallon, while the national average price of gasoline has fallen 1.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.63 per gallon today. Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, has expressed optimism about the future of gas prices, stating that the seasonal rise in prices appears to be over. He believes that Americans should not worry about rising prices as relief is on the way.
COULD IT BE A SUMMER WITHOUT RECORD HIGH PRICES?
De Haan also noted that while the latter half of the summer could potentially see hurricane-related issues, he believes that the worst is behind us and that this summer will likely not feature record gasoline prices.
YOUR NEIGHBORS ON THE WEST SIDE ARE PAYING MORE FOR GAS THAN YOU
Residents in neighboring areas such as Tacoma and Seattle are also experiencing fluctuations in gas prices. In Tacoma, the average price is $4.64 per gallon, up 3.5 cents from last week. Seattle residents are paying an average of $4.81 per gallon, up 1.6 cents from last week. Overall, Washington state has seen an increase in gas prices, with the average price currently at $4.63 per gallon. It remains to be seen whether gas prices will continue to decrease in Yakima and other areas in the coming weeks, but for now, residents can enjoy the slight relief at the pump.
